This is an On the Range Review of the Smith and Wesson Model 36 – Smith’s introduction to the .38 Special snub nose line coming out in 1950. Dubbed the Chief’s Special in 1950 at the Association of Chief of Police Convention, it quickly became one of the most carried backup guns of the times. Truly a great little historic gun to shoot and review.
